Beef & Potato Dog Food

Prepared in a 8qt Instant Pot. Store refrigerated up-to 5 days, freeze remaining in freezer safe glass container or serving portioned bags (be sure to date).

  • 3 pounds ground beef, 80/20
  • 2.5 oz beef liver
  • 3 pounds 9oz russet potatoes, skin on
  • 1 pound 14oz sweet potatoes, skin on
  • 5 oz carrots (about 3 carrots)
  • 5 oz green beans
  • 2.5 oz peas
  • 2.5 oz apple
  • 3.4oz fish oil

Prep

  • Fill your instant pot an inch of filtered water
  • Place in ground beef
  • Add fish oil
  • Breakup beef with hands until combined
  • Add liver
  • Finely chop all other ingredients, add to pot.
  • Manual/pressure cook 30 minutes

Instant Pot

  • Release pressure when timer goes off
  • Remove liver and separately blend with water.
  • Blend thoroughly.
  • Add to pot, mix and incorporate everything thoroughly.
  • Chill and refrigerate.
  • You can purchase a silicone instant pot lid and additional stainless pot for easier storage.

Feed accordingly to dogs weight. Batch lasts me three days (6 servings) with a snack, for two full size Australian Shepherds.
